Doug Englen is a retired Army Special Operations Officer who entered Tennessee politics as a candidate for State Senator in District 22 in 2020. Following his campaign, Doug remained actively involved in state and local politics, serving as Chairman of the Montgomery County GOP and District 22 State Executive Committeeman. He has also held numerous leadership positions throughout the community, including President of the Tennessee Firearms Association chapter, Chamber of Commerce board member, and chair positions within several veteran organizations.

Doug joined Bell in September 2020 as the Fort Campbell representative for Future Vertical Lift programs. In his current role, he oversees regional legislative affairs and government relations across Tennessee and Kentucky while supporting the design, development, and testing of the V-280 Valor as part of the Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft modernization strategy. A Clarksville resident since 1998, Doug brings extensive knowledge of Army aviation and local municipalities.

Prior to joining Bell, Doug served more than 33 years on active duty in the United States Army. In his final assignment, he served as the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Army and Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon. Before that, he spent 22 years within Special Operations Command serving in multiple senior leadership roles, including acquisition technology director, command chief warrant officer, senior standardization aviator, and flight lead within the MH-47G/E Regiment. Earlier in his career, he served as a CH-47D aviator in Germany and Korea and began his military service as a UH-1H mechanic.

Throughout his career, Doug completed multiple overseas assignments and combat tours, accumulating nearly 8,000 flight hours and more than 2,500 combat missions in service to our nation.
